One of the things you'll notice when you're talking to an Avistelé employee is that we use words that you don't hear in any other apartment complex. You won't hear us use the words "tenant" or "apartment" or "rent." Even the words “complex,” “property manager” and “maintenance” don't do much to emphasize the importance of being in personal and genuine relationship with one another. We think words matter, and if we're going to change the world, we want to start with the fundamentals of how we communicate our vision and values to you.

Membership in a Community
Instead of "tenants" or "residents" we have Members (and you'll always hear that capital M). Rather than tenants living on a property, our Members belong to a Community. Property after all is just dirt and buildings, but a Community is a place where individuals interact with one another and pursue common interests. Membership in an Avistelé Community is intended to be about as different from "renting in an apartment complex" as you can get.

Putting the Home in Apartment Home
Because we encourage our Members to customize their living space to reflect their tastes and passions, our apartments quickly become individuals' homes, and so that is what we call them. Since the walls are painted to your selection (a complimentary service to our Members), it's certainly more like your home than some anonymous apartment.

Membership Agreements and Membership Fees
Your monthly Membership Fees will include the cost of your home, related utility costs, plus the costs for any premium lifestyle services you incurred during the previous month. Your Membership Agreement acts like the lease you're used to seeing, but the emphasis at Avistelé is always on the Member and belonging to a Community. That includes the contract we use and what we call your payments--so that you never forget how much we value what you bring to your Avistelé Community.

Are we crazy for talking so differently about what is so familiar? We think what goes on everyday in multifamily living is just not good enough.
